Rich Johnston is an experienced guide who knows the best spots to catch smallmouth bass. He has over 35 years boating experience completing his Coast Guard Boating Skills & Seamanship course at age 16! He is a former tournament fisherman. He provides high-quality equipment and personalized instruction to ensure a successful and enjoyable fishing trip.
Retired Firefighter
Rich is a retired union firefighter so he offers a 10% discount for Military, Police, Fire and EMS personnel.

Not only is fishing a thrilling activity, but it also provides an opportunity to take in the stunning natural scenery of the area. The Susquehanna is the longest river on the east coast and is widely known for its smallmouth bass population. It also supports many species of fish including catfish, musky, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, perch, carp and many others. While on your fishing charter, it will not be uncommon to see turtles, eagles, hawks, deer, wild turkey, and ducks among other wildlife.

All About the Boat
1860 Lowe Tunnel Center Console
This boat is powered by a 115/80 Mercury Jet Motor with Hummingbird Helix 7 and 10. We use a Minn Kota Ultrex 112 with a Dakota Lithium battery for peak performance. This boat navigates within only inches of water allowing us to go virtually anywhere within the shallow depths of the Susquehanna River North Branch. This boat puts you where the fish are!

Items to Bring on Your Trip
It is recommended that you bring along the following items:
- Polarized sunglasses, hat, sunscreen
- Rain gear (we will fish in the rain, not thunder)
- Camera
- Snacks/lunch (bottled water will provided)
- Footwear that can get wet
Know Before You Go
- All tackle including rod and reel are provided. (If you have your favorite rod and reel then please bring it along,)
- We meet at River Road in Tunkhannock a half hour prior to your scheduled trip.
- Alcohol and Marijuana are prohibited
Payment Details
Each trip requires a $100 deposit. This is a non-refundable amount. The captain can at any time cancel a booking due to unsafe conditions. The trip will be rescheduled. If you are unable to make the rescheduled date, your deposit will be returned.
Each trip is includes two anglers, a third or a fourth can be added for $60 extra per angler.
- 4 hour Smallmouth trip costs $275
- 6 hour Smallmouth trip costs $325
- 8 hour Smallmouth trip costs $400
- Additional hours cost $60 an hour.
- 4 hour Catfish trip costs $250
- Additional hours cost $60 an hour
- 4 hour Frances Slocum Lake trip cost $250
- Additional hour cost $60 an hour
- Final payment is due the day of the trip prior to departure. Payment by personal check, must be received 7 days prior to the trip date.
